Dr Muhammad Asim completed his internal medicine residency from University of South Dakota, Sioux falls and University of Oklahoma, college of medicine, Tulsa, Oklahoma and subsequently trained in Gastroenterology and hepatology at University of Tennessee, Memphis, Tennessee. He has been practicing Gastroenterology since 2009 at Decatur, Southlake and Grapevine, Texas. He is the chief of staff at Wise Health system hospital.
His clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal , liver, gall bladder and pancreas disorders including but not limited to gastroesophageal reflux, Barrett’s esophagus, peptic ulcer, obesity, Crohn’s diaseae, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer, gall bladder , pancreatic diseases, liver diseases like viral infections, fatty liver, cirrhosis. His focus is on delivering the safest and evidence based clinical care to his patients utilizing procedures including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, advanced ERCP procedures.
Dr. Asim is Board certified in Gastroenterology by American Board of internal medicine. He is a member of American gastroenterology association and American society for gastrointestinal endoscopy. Besides his interest in clinical service and research, he is passionate about teaching.
Apart from his work, Dr. Asim enjoys spending time with his wife and two children who aspire to become physicians like their mother and father. He enjoys traveling, playing tennis and racquetball in his spare time.
